Of course, not everyone celebrates it, and not everyone pays attention to their women on this day in Montenegro (which is a great pity), as some consider it a relic of communism. Well, that’s upbringing — we won’t impose our views on anyone…

But let’s better turn our attention to those who haven’t forgotten about the beautiful half of humanity and organized a real celebration for the lovely ladies in Herceg Novi. For a woman, attention is the most important thing — and the organizers of the event made sure there was plenty of it. On the 8th, at the city’s promenade (the harbor), 400 roses were given out to women! Female workers in the service sector weren’t forgotten either.

There was also a musical ensemble playing here. And all of it took place against the backdrop of wonderful weather!

Agree, isn’t it nice? Truly well done!
But the fun didn’t end there! Many cafés and restaurants prepared an evening program with live music and a set (meat or fish) menu priced at 20 euros.

Not much at all for a three-course dinner (seafood salad, grilled fish with potatoes and Swiss chard, dessert, and endless wine). Of course, we couldn’t miss such a chance and booked a table by the fireplace! So, our group of four girls decided to celebrate our well-deserved day in the calendar at the konoba “Kantula,” right on the waterfront. And we didn’t regret it! It was fun, delicious, and full of spirit!
Now we know how March 8th is celebrated in Montenegro!
Great service, carnations were given to the women, and at the end, each received a handmade flower pot as a gift.

And the owner — just between us — gave us a generous discount as a friendly gesture… But shhh — don’t tell anyone. ;-))
All in all, we left the place feeling happy, refreshed, and full of joy. Honestly, we should meet up like this more often and treat ourselves to little celebrations — no need to wait for the calendar to say so! 🙂
